Fine Art Printing or Giclée Prints

The word Giclée (ghee-klay) comes from the French word gicler meaning “to squirt, spurt, or spray”. The term is now generally accepted to describe high quality art and photographic inkjet printing, on fine art and photo papers, using archival pigment inks. Giclée printing is perfect for fine art reproduction, photography, digital art and illustration.
Pigment inks on cotton rag papers have proven to be highly archival (consider for example Rembrandt’s etchings – they were made using pigment inks on cotton papers).
This process is now regarded as one of the most stable colour printing processes available at this time (far more stable than traditional chemistry-based printing).
There is currently no other process that offers the combination of flexibility, control, beauty and longevity of Giclée printing on quality canvas or cotton rag surfaces.

At PhotoFix we use only the best available archival materials to produce prints that are suitable for sale and exhibition, or simply display in your own home. Galleries and museums around the world now accept prints made with these materials, in some cases prints made using these processes and materials now sell for higher prices than prints made with traditional photographic fine art printing methods.
The papers used for this service are premium quality heavyweight museum grade art papers. They are 100% acid free and pH neutral and the results really are stunning.
All of our wide format, fine art and canvas prints are printed using the Giclée system.
This service is available from digital files supplied to us and includes image preparation and minor retouching to maximise print quality. For this exceptional quality product, you will want to ensure that the resolution of your digital artwork is set at the optimum 300 dpi at finished size and saved in your working colourspace (preferably Adobe RGB).
